Piha... Lion Rock March 31st 2009

I woke up and ate breakfast with the family. After breakfast Oliver and I drove to Piha west of Olly's house... The rode was really winndy and I started to get a bit nauseated... but it was worth the trip to Lion Rock... Lion Rock is a big rock by the beach... There are a lot of really nice houses with massive windows in them in Piha. Olly and I walked on the beach and up Lion rock... Heaps of stairs and I must say my calves were tremendously hurting from the day before.

Lion Rock was really awesome and I got some great photos. After Lion Rock we headed back to Olly's house for lunch. After lunch I was a bit tried so I napped. Then we went to see Matua Winery with Dave, Olly and Nigel (olly's brother)... we met up with two of Olly's friends who showed us around the facility and I tried there riesling. It was a bit on the dry side and to be honest I didn't really like it. The tour of the winery was really fun and it was really nice of Oliver to set it up for me to go. After the tour we went out and picked left over grapes that the winery was not going to use. We basically picked a whole box. We then headed home for TEA (dinner).

At home Rose was busy making dinner, while Olly, Nigel and I played a game of cricket. Cricket is like baseball, accept you don't hit the ball like a baseball... more like golf... We had a lot of fun. After cricket... Nigels wife Vicky joined us for some dinner and we opened a bottle of Hill Family Estate Clark Syrah. The family liked it a lot... We had a wonderful dinner of chicken, salad, bread, pumpkin and pototes. For dessert some amazing or as some say "Organsmic" cheesecake with boysonberries and pineapples. After dinner Olly's other brother Glenn and wife Zera joined us and we all talked about AMERICA and finished off the HFE Clark Syrah. After our talk Nigel and Vicky left and all of us watched New Zealand "Dancing with the Stars" LOL... and we all shared a couple pieces of chocolate... Then we said our good-byes and it was off to bed.
